A man was seriously injured after his motorbike collided with car near Malvern today.

The collision happened just before 10am on the B4211, Rhydd, Hanley Swan, just outside AALPS College.

A purple/blue flip paint Kawasaki 1100 D1 was travelling towards Upton when it collided with a blue Ford Galaxy LX that was joining the road from the college.

The motorcyclist, thought to be in his 30s, was taken by air ambulance to Selly Oak hospital with head and leg injuries.

He remains there for treatment and is in a critical but stable condition.

The man driving the MPV was shocked but uninjured.

The road was closed in both directions for around three hours.

PC Gary Otun, investigating, said: “We would like to hear from any motorists who witnessed the incident or either of the vehicles shortly before the collision took place.

“The motorcyclist was riding a distinctive bike and wearing a multi-coloured helmet, jeans and a black bikers’ jacket.”

Anyone with any information should call police on 08457 444 888, quoting 198-s-240708, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
